Product description

Revira is an effective and environmentally friendly deterrent that is easy to apply. It is harmless to animals, humans and nature. Based on granulate (leca) – burnt clay without added chemicals.

How it works

Revira's granules is activated by rain or dew. Cats detect this before entering the treated area and associate it with an unfamiliar boundary – triggering their instinct to avoid rather than investigate.

The signal reactivates each time it rains, which is why a single application lasts 3–6 months without needing to be replaced.

It does not smell to humans, does not contain toxins or harmful chemicals, is barely visible and has no harmful physical effects on animals or plants.

Documentable effect

Revira has, over its almost 30 years, saved large numbers of animals, saved hundreds of millions of kroner in unique injuries and solved a lot of frustration. Countless tests have been carried out and are still being carried out on different and the same animals, surfaces and conditions.

In Germany, multi-year testing has been carried out together with an insurance company that shows a reduction in wildlife collisions by approx. 95% on treated road sections.

Similarly, the product has been tested together with Bioforsk Nord with good results.

No matter how many successful tests have been carried out and how many customers experience the desired effect, the product will not be able to provide a guaranteed effect. Animals that flee, are in panic or are in heat will probably only be stopped by physical fences.

How much Revira do you need?

metres

Revira is spread in a strip along the edge – an invisible barrier animals turn away from.

When should you treat the entire area?

For most situations, it is sufficient to apply Revira as a protective barrier around the area. Treating the entire garden or parts of it is only necessary if the animals have already become established on your property.

  • Mice and other rodents: Treat the areas where you see activity or where the rodents have become established.
  • Deer: Treat deer trails and extend the application 2–3 metres on each side of the trail, in addition to the protective Revira barrier.
  • Cats: If the protective Revira barrier is not sufficient, Revira can also be applied to flower beds, sandpits, and other areas that cats frequently visit.

1L covers approx. 125 m² · 2L covers approx. 250 m² or 125 metres of barrier.

Keep cats off the flower beds - and out of the sandpit

Sprinkle Revira in a thin line around the area you want to protect - flower beds, lawns, a child's sandpit.

Most cats turn back before they reach it, so the area stays clear. No sprays, no devices, no harm to the cat.

How to use Revira

1 Create a 2m-wide protective barrier around the area you want to protect.
2 Position the barrier 1–5 metres in front of flower beds, lawns or sandpits. Think of it as an invisible barrier that animals avoid crossing.
3 Rain naturally reactivates the granules after dry periods. Simply reapply every 3–6 months.

Bent Salmelid

Used Revira for many years - very satisfied

Bent Salmelid, Operations Manager

"“We have used Revira for many years and are very satisfied with the results. It has been used to keep roe deer away from areas with spring flowers such as tulips and crocuses at a large cemetery with around 12,000 graves.”"

"“I have used Revira against deer for many years and am very pleased with the results. My garden is now left in peace, which I really appreciate. I have also started using Revira against mice and voles, and it has been just as effective there.”"
Frequently asked questions

Overview of the most frequently asked questions and answers about Revira and our product.

How long does Revira last compared to other cat repellent granules?

Most cat repellent granules and sprays need reapplying every 4–6 weeks, and lose effectiveness faster when it rains.

Revira is designed to last 3–6 months. Rather than washing away in rain, the granules reactivate when wet – which means outdoor conditions help maintain the effect rather than reduce it. One 2L bag creates a 125-metre perimeter and typically covers a full season without reapplication.

Will Revira keep cats out of my flower beds?

Yes – flower beds are one of the most common places people use Revira. Cats are attracted to loose, freshly dug soil because it resembles natural litter. Sprinkle Revira in a strip around the border of the flowerbed, 1–2 metres out from the plants. Most cats turn back before crossing it. Reapply every 3–6 months, or after an extended dry period.

Will Revira keep cats from pooping in my garden?

Revira helps discourage cats from entering and digging in areas of your garden by creating a "invisible fence" that cats instinctively associate with unfamiliar or unsafe territory.

When the granules are spread around flower beds, lawns, garden borders or sandboxes, cats usually detect the scent before reaching the area and choose to move elsewhere.

Because the formula is non-toxic and humane, it deters cats without harming the cats or affecting children, pets or wildlife.

Are there any risks when using Revira?

No, there are no known risks. Revira does not contain chemical additives. The granulate is ceramic (like Leca) and is used as a normal soil improver - completely harmless to humans, animals, plants and the environment. Should any Revira residues remain, it is permissible to put it in the compost or use it as a soil improver.

Where and when does Revira work best?

Revira works best on animals in normal grazing behavior. Wildlife being chased, animals in heat, or those during hunting season may be harder to deter. When used correctly, Revira has shown a high deterrent effect — field reports and studies from Germany indicate up to 95% reduction in wildlife-related road accidents in areas where Revira was properly installed. The effect lasts 3–6 months.

Does Revira provide 100 percent protection?

Revira is used as a deterrent line because animals should detect the signals before reaching the area to be protected. For this reason, the granules are spread in a strip around or in front of the area, rather than across the entire area.

Why should Revira, as a general rule, be spread like a fence?

Revira is used as a fence because the animals need to register the signals before they reach the area to be protected. Therefore, the granules are spread in a strip around or in front of the area, not across the entire area.

Can Revira work against Sheep?

Yes, Revira can be effective against sheep. Sheep are sensitive to the signals emitted by Revira and will generally avoid areas where it has been applied. However, results may vary depending on the temperament of the sheep and grazing conditions.
